Books for Kids

Ahn’s Anger

This is a great, short book showing that there is nothing wrong with feeling anger. In fact, anger is a healthy thing to take out of the closet and try on when you need to, as long as it’s done in a safe way. Once you’ve expressed it in a healthy manner, it goes away. This was one of those books that my daughter initially said she didn’t like, but returns to again and again at storytime.

The Invisible String

A lovely story about a mother explaining to her children that we are connected to everyone close to us by love.

In My Heart

We love this book! This one can be read to very small children, but my almost 7 year old wants to read this one almost every night lately. A simple read explaining how fluid (but strong) our feelings are, and that even the most complex, tough feelings are OK.
